Island Detection Communication in IEC61850 Grid Controller by Utilizing 2oo3 Architecture to Improve Redundancy and Reliability

After large-scale photovoltaic (PV) and wind power integration with the national grid, island grid detection is a crucial technique that identifies when should be considered as dead. This logic built in an IEC61850 controller which mainly depends on bus bar scheme fault type. It becomes more complex ½ circuit breaker utilized. The lack of communication redundancy causes mal-operation due to substation's DC supply failure. In order avoid such discrepancies, this paper investigates conventional islanding method. Then, advanced 2oo3 architecture proposed for detection, based SAS redundant improves reliability. However, even if there interface failure, plant control center can still detect through SCADA IEC60870-5-101/104 gateways integration. method has tendency full supervision entire perfect logical judgment by operation staff. feasible play decisive role system network stability blackout.
